Who we are

This is the privacy policy for WiseSolutions ("we", "us"), based in London. You can reach us at [email protected] for anything to do with your data.

What we collect

The personal data we collect is what you submit through a form or the discovery questionnaire. Through an enquiry form:

  • Your name
  • Your email address
  • A short description of what you'd like to discuss

Through the discovery questionnaire, the details listed under Discovery questionnaire below.

Cookies and third parties

This site sets no analytics cookies and runs no third-party analytics. If we add either, we'll update this page first and (where the law requires) ask for your consent.

A few parts of the site involve other companies:

  • Hosting and delivery. The site is hosted and delivered by Cloudflare, which handles the technical data every web request carries (such as your IP address) to serve pages and protect the site.
  • Booking. The booking page, and the booking window that opens from our "Book a discovery call" buttons, embed a Google Calendar scheduling page. When it is opened, Google may set its own cookies, and what you enter there is handled under Google's privacy policy.
  • Evergreen samples. The Evergreen page loads recent article data from the client sites it shows, so your browser contacts those sites when you view it.

What we do with it

Enquiry forms and the discovery questionnaire store what you type in our enquiries database, which runs on Airtable, so we can reply and prepare for the conversation. The questionnaire also emails your answers to us, and a copy to you, through our email provider, Google Workspace, which we also use to reply. When something arrives, a short alert with your name and contact details reaches us on a private messaging channel, so we see it straight away.

Airtable, Google and the messaging service may process this data outside the UK, including in the United States. Where they do, it is covered by the international transfer safeguards each provider puts in place, as UK GDPR requires. The automation that passes it between them runs on managed servers in the EU.

We use your contact details for one thing: to reply to you. If our conversation turns into a paid engagement, we then use them to deliver the work and invoice for it.

We do not sell your data. We do not pass it to advertising networks. We do not add you to a marketing list unless you've separately and explicitly asked us to.

Discovery questionnaire

The discovery questionnaire is a private page that asks about your business and your working week before we speak.

  • What we collect. Your name, your contact details, details about your business, and your answers.
  • Why. To prepare for our conversation, so the call starts from how your week actually runs.
  • Where it goes. To us by email, and into our enquiries database.
  • On your device. Until you send or clear it, an unsent draft of your answers is kept in your browser on this device.
  • How long we keep it. Until you ask us to delete it.
  • How to ask. Email [email protected] and we will delete your answers.

Lawful basis (UK GDPR)

We rely on legitimate interest for replying to enquiries you started, and on contract if we end up working together. If you opt in to a newsletter or marketing email in future, we'll rely on your consent, which you can withdraw at any time.

How long we keep it

Enquiries that don't go anywhere are deleted within 24 months. Discovery questionnaire answers are kept until you ask us to delete them. If we work together, we keep records for the life of the engagement plus 6 years (the period HMRC asks UK businesses to retain financial records).

Your rights

You have the right to see what we hold on you, have it corrected, have it deleted, take it elsewhere, or stop us using it. To exercise any of these, email [email protected]. We'll respond within 30 days.

If you think we've handled your data badly, you can complain to the UK's Information Commissioner's Office. We'd rather you came to us first, but it's your right.

Changes to this policy

We'll update this page when something material changes. The "last updated" date at the top is authoritative.
